Pisec attracting leading speakers
Pisec 05, the international conference and exhibition for the brand protection, product authentication, document security and RFID industries, taking place 18-20 April at the Hilton Vienna, Austria, has attracted 35 top-level speakers to take part. The organisers are also attracting delegates through planning to announce the Pisec Industry Awards winners at the event, following online voting from across the industry.
The organiser says that as the threat of counterfeiting, forgery and product piracy increases, and the pace of change accelerates, a more pro-active approach is called for to tackle these issues - and those facing the threats within the supply chain are constantly looking to develop technology to create innovative solutions. It says Pisec 05 will present new solutions to these problems; offer information about all the latest product and image security technologies; and give an opportunity to assess the opportunities for technology transfer.
The Pisec 05 conference will focus on various key themes, including: ‘Positive product protection’; ‘Methods of managing movement and manufacture’; ‘Checks on contents, counterfeiting and covert cover’; ‘RFID technology and solutions today’; ‘Clamping down on fraud’; and ‘Preventing piracy’. The speaker line up includes: Chris Thomas, Barclays Bank PLC; Rainer Lutz, Philips; James Stafford, Marks & Spencer; Thomas Grinnan, Meadwestvaco; and Peter Lowe, Counterfeit Intelligence Bureau.
In addition to the conference, a mini-exhibition will take place alongside. Exhibitors include Atlantic Zeiser, CP Films, Creo, DuPont Authentication, HP Indigo, MediaSec Technologies, Paxar Brand Protection and Securikett – plus there will be a repeat of last year’s very successful ‘Meet the Brandowners’ showcase, including leading names such as Adidas, Levi Strauss, Nike, Rangers FC, Reebok, Timberland, and Umbro.
The PISEC 05 Industry Awards will recognize and celebrate innovation and excellence in the industry. The Awards have been given a new format for 2005, and voting is open to anyone from the worldwide industry online at www.pisec-awards.com. The awards will be given for outstanding achievement in:
