The National Print Awards has a new chairman in the lead-up to the 23rd Awards, which will be presented in 2006.Scott Telfer, national sales and marketing manager of Promentum Ltd, has been elected chairman of the 23rd National Print Awards Committee.
Ron Patterson, immediate past chairman of Pacprint ’05, joins Telfer as deputy chairman.
Having worked with former chairman Alf Carrigan during the re-establishment of the Awards over the past three years, Telfer says he is looking forward to a further consolidation of these Awards.
Outgoing chairman Alf Carrigan says he has enjoyed working with fellow board members and is confident he is leaving the premier industry event in a strong, healthy position.
“I fully support the nomination of our deputy chairman, Scott Telfer, for chair of the 23rd Awards. It’s great to see a younger person taking on this responsibility, especially one who is currently working in the industry.”
On accepting the challenge, Telfer says, “The ongoing support by our three major sponsors and the record participation of our patrons, entrants and wward night attendees, has demonstrated a continuation in the level of awareness and profile of the awards.”
The awards presentation dinner will be held in the ballroom of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, on Friday, May 12, 2006.
Entry forms are currently in production and are being mailed to previous entrants and distributed in this issue of Australian Printer.
The National Print Awards web site at www.nationalprintawards.com.au is under construction and will facilitate the downloading of entry forms.
Entries close January 31, 2006, for work produced in calendar year 2005.
The independant judging panel, again under the chairmanship of Rodney Urquhart, has recommended the addition of one new category, Die-Cut Presentation Folders.
It has also recommended minor changes to the Limited Edition and Book Printing categories. Those recommendations have been adopted by the NPA Committee.
