There has been a strong interest in Melbourne based Vega Press which has been in receivership since mid-February with industry players and financial firms looking at acquiring the 53 year old print business.
Damian Templeton, partner, KPMG told Australian Printer, “There is a sales process currently underway and we are pleased with the level of interest that has been shown in Vega. We are expecting an offer by Thursday afternoon.”
Templeton says, “It is business as usual and most of the interest in Vega has come from the financial sector and from industry players.”
KPMG was called in as the receiver in February and is aiming to keep the $18m-a-year business operating until a buyer is found.
Vega has around 70 staff operating under the leadership of managing director Peter Gude.
The company has been looking to ease its position for some time, it was in talks with Opus business McPherson’s last year regarding a merger, but these collapsed.
