Auckland Packaging Company has chosen Prism WIN, citing better ‘bang for its buck’ from the Prism MIS. Auckland Packaging Company (APC) has chosen Prism WIN as the fully integrated Management Information System (MIS) it intends to implement during the first quarter of 2004. APC is New Zealand’s largest privately owned specialist packaging company.Andrew Kurth, APC’s IT Manager stated, "We carried out a thorough analysis of a number of MIS offerings, both print/packaging specific and generic systems, and Prism WIN proved to be the clear choice in terms of functionality, performance and overall fit to the business needs. Other critical factors in the decision were the availability of highly experienced, locally based support staff, the fact that the full development team are located in Auckland and Prism’s history and track record in the market place."
Lee Findlay, Prism’s general manager Australasia, says "This decision is further evidence of Prism’s market leading position in the printing and graphics industry in Australasia and confirms that Prism WIN is the integrated MIS product of choice for printers of all types. As a company, Prism is focussed not only on the product itself, but also on customer service and support, in order to ensure that a solid partnership relationship evolves. This is underpinned with a solution aimed at providing a real return on investment and a commitment to continuous product development in order to anticipate market and customer needs. We welcome Auckland Packaging as our latest NZ customer and look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship."
The APC system will include the full suite of products within Prism WIN, including the WIN Connect module, which will be used to interface to the CAD product APC use for product design. Prism WIN will replace three disparate legacy systems, and thus enable all users to track job estimates through to completion as well as integrate all stock management, purchasing and accounting information, something the APC staff cannot do at present.
Says Andrew Kurth, "The choice of an MIS product and vendor is probably the most critical decision any business can make. We are seeking to achieve significant growth in the medium term and we expect Prism WIN to underpin our future strategic growth by providing the key business intelligence and management information we need to make timely and fully informed decisions. Our choice of MIS product was based on our expected future, as well as our current needs, and we are confident Prism WIN will grow with us in that respect. We did not have that same level of confidence with some of the other products."
