Wright wins Peter Sajet Award
Bill Wright from CPI’s NSW branch has been awarded the Peter Sajet Award for the employee who consistently contributed beyond expectations over the past year. CPI managing director Bernard Cassell says Wright was a stand out in a field of highly regarded nominees.
“Once again this year we had a very strong representation of nominees and we wish to congratulate each of them,” he says. “It is a great honour to be nominated and candidates should be proud of their excellent achievement throughout the year.”
Wright was originally employed as NSW warehouse manager in April 1994 and during this time he introduced many improvements which enabled NSW to continue to offer what is seen in the market as the bench mark of service.
He was also instrumental in instigating many cost recoveries in NSW – an example of this is the present day distribution.
In August 2003, Wright retired due to personal reasons but his retirement was short lived as in March 2004 he accepted a position to help implement OH&S strategies for the whole of the CPI Group. He also became involved in the building of the new CPI distribution centre.
“Bill’s dedication and efforts ensured that the new warehouse was built to benefit CPI and all employees who work there,” says Cassell. “Bill’s commitment, initiative and strong work ethic over the years he has been with CPI made him an outstanding candidate for this award.
For his efforts Wright receives $10,000 and nominees receive a $500 bonus, and Cassells encouraged staff to strive for the award again next year
“We would love to receive an even greater number of nominations in this coming year,” says Cassells.
The Sajet Family established the Peter Sajet Award to perpetuate both the memory of Peter Sajet as a founding member of CPI and the values that he thought were essential to the success of the organisation.
