PrintNZ has named the 12 semi-finalists selected for the 2012 Apprentice of the Year Award, and chosen from all who completed their apprenticeship in 2012, representing a broad range of businesses from across the country.
the award continues to attract apprentices from across the country in the print and packaging industries. Principally sponsored by Icon Digital Printing Papers, the Apprentice Awards also receives continued funding and support from Blue Print Imaging, Yoobee School of Design, Newspaper Publishers’ Association, Print Finishers Association, PrintNZ and the NZ Paper Forum.
For the semi-finalists, judges made selections based on a range of information held by PrintNZ Training. This includes feedback from training advisors, assessors/markers and workshop tutors, assignment marks and completion times. Employers will provide further information before the selection panel chooses five finalists later this month.
The finalists will supply further information and attend an interview before the winner of the Apprentice of the Year Award is announced at the NZ Pride In Print Awards on May 3.
The Apprentice of the Year finalists will also receive an award and prize at the PrintNZ Training Apprentice Awards on May 2 in Wellington, which will comprise a high profile part of the PrintNZ Conference Dinner.
