Aarque has its eye on the photo printing market with the latest Epson solution: the Epson SureLab D3000, which it has now made available in New Zealand.

Gavin Leahy, marketing supervisor at Aarque, says, “This mini-lab continues in the footsteps of Epson's superior printer build quality. The new SureLab D3000 adds a complete new dimension to the current printer range.”

The Epson SureLab D3000 can print on glossy, matte and lustre media up to 30.5cm wide to produce professional photographs, greetings cards, invitations, flyers, banners, landscapes and promotional leaflets. Leahy says, "We have witnessed some truly impressive results from the numerous test prints that we have conducted. Putting this printer through its paces has proved something of a revelation with its testing speed, quality and overall performance. It scored top marks in all of these areas.”

The new printer comes bundled with propriety print software. Leahy says, “This allows for the easy creation of print jobs for clients. Each print job lot can be set to match the individual requirements of the customer such as print size, print quality, media type and a range of other variables. These also include a backside printing of up two lines of up to 40 characters such as the date, a reference number , the filename, or your website address.”

He adds that the SureLab D3000 can also print directly from virtually any third-party software programme, from Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom to Darkroom software and just about any Windows imaging application that has a print dialogue, according to Epson.

Leahy says, “The prints eject dry, de-curled and lay perfectly flat, ready to ship, frame, or mount and extremely consistent manufacturing process ensures stable prints from lot to lot. Epson UltraChrome D6 Ink penetrates the surface of the paper. The result is water-resistant prints where the surface gloss level remain consistent, regardless of the highlight-to-media white transitions.

”For placement flexibility and easy installation, the SL-D3000 has wheels for easy mobility and a small footprint for studios that have limited floor space. All key functions, consumable loading and output delivery ports are at the front. It can be positioned in a corner to save space, as it is operated from two adjacent sides, and can be operated as a stand-alone device with direct PC connect or in a bank via a Print Server.

The dual-roll model allows two different media types and/or two different roll widths to be loaded simultaneously for versatility and improved productivity. A single-roll configuration will also be available.

Leahy lists the SL D3000 features as:
