Mimaki has unveiled a new flatbed printer, the UJF-6042, which offers double the bed size of its predecessor the UJF-3042, as well as an increase in print resolution.
Mimaki’s New Zealand supplier, Blue Print Imaging, says the smaller UJF-3042 has proved quite popular and the larger UJF-6042 will open up another market segment opportunity.
Offering 1800 X 1800dpi on an A2 print bed, 150mm head height, and multiple ink options, the new machine uses six-colour process, white and clear inks. It incorporates a ball screw type head conveyance mechanism, which Mimaki says enhances the accuracy of the ink drop placement onto the substrate. The A2 bed size allows two facing pages of an A3 photo book to be printed simultaneously. When printing to rigid substrates, Mimaki's LH-100 ink incorporates CMYK + white. Mimaki's LF-100 flexible ink comes in in six colours and white, while the LF-200 ink enables expansion of up to 200 oer cent according to Mimaki.
The UJF-6042 can use automatic primer, and boasts Mimkai’s nozzle recovery function; circulation technology, and RasterLink 6 RIP software, a fully featured package with intuitive layout functions, powerful spot colour replacement capabilities and the capability to print three layers (colour, white and colour) simultaneously onto transparent substrates.
