Xaar has approved one of Agfa Graphics’ UV-curable inks for use with its innovative OmniDot 760 printhead, which was co-developed between both companies. Formulated using high-quality pigments with high fade-resistance, the ink ensures long-lasting results in outdoor applications.

Its fast-curing capability enables high-productivity and offers excellent adhesion and a tough, scratch-resistant finish on a wide range of rigid and flexible substrates which makes the ink set the ideal choice for both internal and external graphics, such as banner and signage printing, POS, vehicle and exhibition graphics as well as backlit graphics and window displays.

Agfa Graphics developed the Xaar range of UV-curable general purpose inks specifically to achieve effective jetting of vibrant and lightfast colours and guarantee high-quality, durable results for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.

Xaar ink product manager, Dr Jill Woods says the move demonstrates the company’s commitment to work with leading industry players to offer open ink solutions to ensure the best ink/printhead combination for a broad range of applications.

"After years of co-development of the Xaar OmniDot 760 printhead, this approval is a logical step. Agfa Graphics is strongly committed to developing high standard inkjet inks such as this Xaar UV-CURE ink set."

Xaar is a world’s leading supplier of industrial inkjet printheads, inks and peripheral equipment to commercial printing and industrial manufacturing markets.
