Organisers of the 2013 Environmental Packaging Awards programme have almost completed their sponsorship list, which offers sponsors permanent naming rights for promotion beyond the awards evening in September.
The awards programme has spaces for two remaining categories: the “Award for an employee who has championed environmental issues and driven change” and the new “Video Challenge” award. Paul Curtis, executive director of the Packaging Council of New Zealand, says, “Sponsorship offers an opportunity for organisations to be associated with our flagship biennial Environmental Packaging Awards programme."
The “Award for an employee who has championed environmental issues and driven change” celebrates the unsung eco-champions within an organisation. Curtis says, “This category represents individual recognition, which past recipients have really valued for acknowledgement of their work, personal growth and career development. They display this award with pride – providing an enduring association between the category sponsor and the awards programme.
“The new “Video Challenge” Award acknowledges that in today’s social media world, ‘telling the story’ is an important part of any marketing campaign. This category has been created to give organisations the opportunity to communicate their environmental packaging initiatives in a creative way. We expect this category to provide an on-going association between the category sponsor and the awards programme as the video collateral will be used extensively to showcase the entrant’s initiatives.”
This year, Te Radar will MC the awards evening, on September 6 at Auckland’s Hilton Hotel. Anyone wanting to become a sponsor can visit the web site www.packaging.org.nz
