Just two awards out of four were presented at this year’s Australian Packaging Machinery Association (AMPA) Awards of Excellence held at Auspack. IDM Instruments was winner of the Export Achievement Award for its developing export market for the manufacture of testing and measuring equipment.

Since 1972, IDM Instruments have gained a renowned reputation as one of Australia’s leading suppliers of testing and measuring instruments to both local and overseas customers.

Currently, the major markets for IDM Instruments are the USA and China. Together with distributors around the world, in the last two years IDM’s export market has rapidly increased, accounting for 51 per cent of sales.

Brisbane company FibreKing was winner of the Imported Equipment Award for its hot fill beverage line.

FibreKing is an Australian leading designer and manufacturer of end of line packaging and materials handling systems for food, beverage, household and personal care and petrochemical industries.

This year the Customer Participation Award and the Design Award were not presented, as judges decided the entries did not meet the high standard and strict criteria of the award category.

At the presentation, APMA chairman Jim Strang expressed the association’s appreciation for the support of sponsors of the Awards of Excellence, which are designed to promote industry excellence in packaging and processing machinery.
