Dynapack Asia acquires Viscount Plastics

Dynapack Asia, a privately owned Singapore packaging company has  completed the acquisition of Viscount Plastics Malaysia, a manufacturer of injection moulded plastic products for blue chip industrial and lubricant customers.

Tony Hambali, chief executive, Dynapack says, “We are excited to welcome Viscount Malaysia to the Dynapack business. Viscount Malaysia has earned a reputation for delivering high quality packaging products to its customers.”

Hambali says, “We are confident that Dynapack can further enhance this reputation by investing and upgrading the business to provide our customers with access to cutting edge innovation and technology.”

Dynapack group has operations in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia and the group designs and manufactures bottles, tubes, closure systems, pails and cartridges and other customised packaging solutions for branded consumer and industrial products.

Hambali says, “Dynapack is actively considering a number of acquisition opportunities in the region and has aggressive growth targets to deliver through further acquisitions and organic growth.”

The Indonesian unit of the group is Dynaplast, which was established in 1959. Dynaplast is a leading manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging in Indonesia catering to a diverse mix of companies and industries.

The company went public in 1991. From its 14 production centres in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, Dynaplast manufactures plastic packaging for chemicals and lubricants, food, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics and bottle crates.

The group also makes precision plastic components for home electrical appliances, the automotive, consumer goods, computer industries and electronics.

Over the years, Dynaplast has built new production facilities, made strategic acquisitions and developed partnerships with international companies by establishing joint ventures in related businesses based in Japan, Thailand and Singapore.

In 2004, Dynaplast started constructing a new rigid plastics production facility in Vietnam to tap the growing demand from a major consumer goods company.
