Through its collaboration with distributor Gulmen engineering, Italian press manufacturer Gidue continues to make inroads into the New Zealand and Australian markets with recent installations in Auckland and Victoria.
Presson Labels, based in Auckland’s North Shore, installed a Gidue Combat M1 press in December. Gidue says the Combat m1 has a 370mm width configuration, offering eight clour UV with chilled drums, servo motor in feed, pre-register. It adds that the Combat 1 offers Presson the ability to run different substrates for the production of self-adhesive labels, sleeves and wrap around labels.
Based in Victoria, Rapid Labels supplies labels for food, beverage, wine, cosmetics, chemical and pharmaceutical products. In September, it installed a Gidue M5 Digital Flexo to print materials like self-adhesive, unsupported film, aluminium foil, carton and tubes. The Gidue M5, a fully servo driven press with a 430mm width, has eight colour UV and final air dryer and HD cameras that read the printed image on each print unit, and seven servo motors in each print station that help it to automatically adjusting the print pressure, register and density. The converting section has the waste material rewinder called SnowBall and three die-cutting units equipped for automatic die-cutting pressure disengagement and digital di-cutting pressure control. Owner Sean Kennon, says, “I purchased the Gidue press after watching a video several times. The press looks even better in real life than in the video. The Gidue team, together with Gulmen Engineering, made it all happen in a short space of time."
Gulmen Engineering has supplied Gidue exclusively in New Zealand and Australia for seven years. Cristina Toffolo, sales and marketing director at Gidue, says, “Our partnership with Gulmen Engineering has been rewarding. We cooperate as a team and we are confident that our service will keep satisfying the customer’s expectations and pave the way to new business opportunities.”
