The Packaging Council of Australia (PCA) is set to host a dinner function next week with a focus on private labels and food contact materials. Speakers on the night include Tom Stephens, founder of Brand Strategy Consultants and Paul Brent, chief scientist at Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ).
In his presentation Stephens will discuss the current state of play, globally, with private labels covering the best in class private labels around the world, building a solid relationship with private label manufacturers and some new and exciting packaging concepts in private labels.
Meanwhile, Brent's presentation will look at packaging and food contact materials as an issue of major importance for brand owners, retailers and packaging manufacturers. He will detail the growing public debate and political concern about the issue.
Founded in 1994 by Stephens, Brand Strategy Consultants works with clients in retail, manufacture of private label and branded products, food brokerage, advertising, store and package design, executive recruitment and government agencies.
As chief scientist at FSANZ, Brent is responsible for the quality and integrity of the science within the agency, and manages the development and implementation of the FSANZ science strategy, international activities, and surveillance and dietary exposure modelling work.
The event will be held at the Caulfield Racecourse on July 14.
