Cospak Victorian state manager John Upstill recently received an Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) Distinguished Service Award. The award recognises Upstill’s commitment to the packaging industry, which includes several AIP board positions and 21 years as an AIP member.

AIP vice president Llew Stephens presented the award, commending Upstill for his significant contribution to the industry.

"Throughout the time John has been involved with the Southern or Victorian branch he has been an active advocate for the AIP and has shown through his leadership in the years as chairman how to create and maintain an active and vibrant branch - such as we see today. He is indeed a very worthy recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for services to AIP and the Packaging Industry,” Stephens said.

Upstill started his career as a graduate at ACI in the glass packaging division and has now been at Copack for almost 30 years. He was responsible for the company’s involvement in the Packaging Covenant.
