The Duplo DBM 2000 Booklet Making System, showcased by AE Hudson for the first time in Australia at the PrintEx ‘03 Exhibition in Sydney, has proven a hit at Blacktown Council in Sydney. The Council’s requirements called for a system to collate a wide range of coated stock, NCR paper and boards to collate into a stacker or make finished booklets from the same collating tower.

This is easily achieved because the Duplo 10/60 collating towers have independent vacuum control to every bin in the system. This eliminates the need for compressor pumps and reduces static electricity in the paper being collated.

John Kennedy, Blacktown Council graphic systems assistant, says, "While booklet making is a lesser part of our production, the Duplo System, as currently installed meets our needs admirably. We plan to install additional collators but could even upgrade later to a DBM-400 with stitching heads should we find it necessary because Duplo is a true modular system."
The Duplo 2000 System is a smaller version of the very successful Duplo 4000, which is installed in most Australian states. The new system comprises two 10-bin suction collating towers, inline with a DBM-120 Bookletmaker and trimmer and a deep pile stacker.

Since its debut, the exclusive agent for Duplo Graphic Arts Systems, A.E. Hudson, has installed three systems with a fourth about to be delivered to a Kwik Kopy store in Sydney.
Since Hudson’s merged with Graphic Imports in 2000 it has continued as the sole Australian importer and distributor of Duplo graphic arts finishing equipment.
