In a welcome sign of support from the Victorian state government, Premier Steve Bracks, in a letter to the PacPrint 05 Board, has welcomed PacPrint 05 to Melbourne, saying that “major events such as PacPrint are important for Victoria, as they showcase the State to an Interstate and International audience as well as generating significant economic benefits”. Bracks holds specific interest in PacPrint having been a past executive director of the Victorian Printing Industry Training Board. “I am particularly proud that Victoria is hosting an event of such high calibre,” he says.

In response to the support from the Premier, Ron Patterson, PacPrint 05 Chairman, says, “The encouraging comments from the Premier further enhance the important role that PacPrint plays in the promotion of the Australian printing industry. We are confident the 2005 event will more than meet expectations.”
