Top apprentices to compete for supreme award

The finalists in the PAITC Apprentice of the Year have been named, and are now in contention for the supreme printing industry apprentice award – PAITC Apprentice of the Year. They will travel to Rotorua in May to attend an awards ceremony where the overall winner will be announced. This year saw over 100 people from all over New Zealand who successfully completed their apprenticeships during 2004 in contention for awards. The category winners were:

Screen Award
Michael Jones
Original Screen, Auckland

Sheet-fed Award
Kuran Ireland
Otago Daily Times Print, Alexandra

Reel-fed Award
Steffan Pedersen
Sealed Air (NZ) Cryovac Food Packaging Division, Porirua

PAITC National Certificate Award
Leslie Quist
Carter Holt Harvey – Paper Bag Division, Auckland
