Big hitters stand out in Pro Awards

Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI), a global imaging industry investigator, is singling out Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Fuji Xerox in this year’s Pro Awards for production print devices.

BLI says its production tests reveal the most outstanding machines in terms of productivity, image quality, media handling, ease of use and other factors.

Konica Minolta’s bizhub Press 1250 achieved a five star productivity rating from BLI and earned the 2014 Outstanding Monochrome Light to Mid-Volume Production Device award.

Ricoh took out the 2014 Outstanding Colour Light Production Device for the Ricoh Pro C5110S, which is also sold under the Lanier brand name.

Fuji Xerox’s Color J75 Press received the 2014 Outstanding Colour Light to Mid-Volume Production Device award, thanks to its image quality, ease of use and job management.

BLI says the throughput speeds of the bizhub Press 1250 were among the fastest tested so far on heavy-grade stocks, it handled mixed-media workflows well and experienced virtually no drop-off in rated speed when running sub-set stapling and perfect bindery jobs.

According to BLI the Ricoh Pro C5110S, tested with an EFI E-42B colour controller, delivered impressive productivity test results for both short and long-run workflows, running at its rated speed on media weights up to 150 gsm in simplex and duplex modes on both uncoated and coated stocks.

George Mikolay, senior product editor with BLI, says, “The Fuji Xerox Color J75 Press is an outstanding choice in light to mid-volume production spaces. Highly productive when running heavier-weight media and switching between A4 and A3 output, the J75 is all about simplifying and automating tasks that typically require more manual intervention.”
