Komori to share eco know-how at Ipex

Komori will have a press at Ipex as it has signed up to sponsor the Eco Zone, and will demonstrate the economic benefits and eco-friendly performance of its H-UV system on a five-colour 40-inch Lithrone press with coater and dryer.

The Ipex Eco Zone is aimed at helping to educate printers on the ecological and business advantages of reducing their environmental impact.

Ipex has struggled to attract offset press manufacturers to exhibit at the show, once Heidelberg announced it was not attending the other major players followed suit, so the deal with Komori will provide a welcome fillip to the expo.

The Ipex Eco Zone will consider the whole environmental situation, which is common across developed countries, it will also host presentations on recent legislation that requires blue-chip businesses to report their carbon footprint, and will look at how this will impact print service providers.

Wayne Beckett, sales director of Ipex 2014, adds, “We are delighted that Komori made the decision to participate in Ipex, and are confident that commercial printers from around the world will benefit from their offset technology and eco-expertise.

“As the role of print continues to evolve in the multi-channel marketing communications mix it is important to dispel any misperceptions in the industry about its environmental impact. Komori has a green story to tell, and their participation in the Eco Zone will allow them to do this at Ipex 2014.”
