Product Distribution Australia (PDA) is releasing the newly updated DYSS X5 digital die cutting table in Australia and New Zealand.
PDA says the latest DYSS X5 has been resized to better fit the requirements of wide format printers, and now handles sheet or roll sizes from 950mm to 1,650mm wide and lengths of 1,250mm to more than 3,000mm.
It features a multi-tool configuration to match different production requirements, and claims the ability to produce complex profile cut prototyping and production packaging, hard and soft labelling, as well as self-adhesive vinyl and rigid sheet work for signage.
The company describes the machine as an ideal companion unit to match output from 1,600mm wide format printers or A3 to A0 sheet-fed presses.
Warren Davey, national sales marketing manager with PDA, says, “This is a well-engineered affordable piece of equipment suitable for small to mid-range operations in the wide format industry.
“I feel there are a lot of printers who are eyeing off the short run label or packaging markets, but have no real means of being able to finish a sheet into a useable label or box. You would either outsource it, or just not do it.
“For those wishing to add to their current finishing capabilities – perhaps a digital printer looking to do some high-end prototyping work who hasn’t got the ability to convert it into labels and packaging, this could be a thought for them.”
Davey says the DYSS X5 and its larger counterpart, the X7, are available to order now. He adds that the Korean manufacturer, while perhaps not so well known in Australia and New Zealand as yet, makes quality equipment capable of holding its own against more familiar brands.
Davey says, “It will appeal to people who are not dazzled by a name. It is a bit like cars, if you have to have a BMW badge, you are never going to buy anything other than a BMW. But DYSS also supplies high-end fully featured and affordable solutions.”
