March 5
10.ooam – 11.30am
Queensland Cricketers Club, Woolloongabba, QLD
Tanya Barden, director of Sustainability, Trade and Innovation with the Australian Food and Grocery Council will be speaking at a joint SCLAA and AIP technical lounge in Queensland.
The food, beverage and grocery manufacturing industry is under pressure from a range of factors including rising costs, retail price deflation, a high Australian dollar, low consumer confidence and weak economic growth. Yet despite the challenges, the industry has remained resilient compared to other manufacturing sectors.
Tanya Barden will provide an overview of the state of the food, beverage and grocery manufacturing industry, drawing on the findings from the AFGC’s State of the Industry report, released in late 2013. This will include trends and the most recent industry data on the size and composition of the industry, and its contribution to the economy.
