CyraChrome has expanded its sales, service and support activities with the appointment of two new members of staff in NSW, Chris Lamb and Scott Barry. Both will be based at CyraChrome’s Sydney office and have responsibility for display graphics and prepress application support respectively.Lamb comes to the company in a newly created position that will focus on the rapidly growing market for digital wide format printing and display graphics. CyraChrome has had considerable success in this market in recent times and offers a wide range of digital print solutions from Epson, Agfa and Grapo, as well as media and consumables.
Having worked previously at Curries and KPG, Lamb has wide ranging graphic arts experience in the supply and support of digital equipment and systems.
“This is an exciting growth area of the graphic arts and I’m looking forward to finding out what customers in NSW are doing as well as demonstrating what CyraChrome can do for them,” says Lamb. “CyraChrome is committed to building support for this market in NSW and I will be busy knocking on doors and visiting customers to show what we can deliver.”
Barry makes the switch from production to technical support, bringing with him considerable skills and an in depth knowledge of digital prepress systems. His career in the graphic arts began as a letterpress camera operator, but he has worked mainly in senior magazine production roles with ACP in Sydney and VNU Business Publications in the UK.
His role at CyraChrome will be to provide technical support to customers in all areas of colour proofing, profiling, colour management and workflow with a focus on the CGS suite of software products.
“I’ve worked in prepress all my life and everything I’ve done has been about colour, so I hope to be able to deliver to our customers the benefit of my experience in this field,” says Barry. “My familiarity with the production side of the industry also means that I have an understanding of the pressures and needs of operators in this environment, so I’d like to think I’ll be able to provide workable solutions for them to get the job done.”
