Once again Victorian commercial printer D&D Global Group has cleaned up at the Premier Print Awards held in the US recently. The Printing Industries of America (PIA) Premier Print Awards international competition is the oldest, largest and one of the most prestigious of its kind within the graphic arts industry.Of the 5237 entries received this year, just 1224 won any award at all, and less than one in four entries won a Premier Print Award. There were 111 print categories and 105 Bennys in all were awarded.
D&D was the only Australian company to win any major awards and managing director Drago Zorec attended the ceremony in Chicago on September 11.
D&D and U6 won Bennys for electronic manipulation, environmentally sound materials, print/graphic arts self promotion for printers with 21-50 employees and booklets greater than 6" x 9", 4/c or more, for printers with 21-50 employees.
The company won in the ‘They said it couldn’t be done’ category, won best of division for its Holden Racing Team posters, and received three certificates of merit and seven awards of recognition.
This furthers D&D’s success last year when they won three Bennys.
The awards are known as Bennys in honour of America’s most cherished publisher/printer Benjamin Franklin and have become a coveted trophy within the graphic arts industry.
The Premier Print Awards honour the best of the best through a rigorous judging process that recognises excellence in design and quality printing.
