Exhibitors may be dropping like flies from the Ipex line-up but the local show PacPrint looks like being one of the strongest ever, with Aussie printers now being able to see a new high speed inkjet web at the show with the Fujifilm JetPress W.

The imaging giant will also be showing its B2 sheetfed version the JetPress 720. The sheetfed JetPress was first show at drupa 2008 and commercially launched at drupa last year.

The webfed JetPress W was shown at drupa in prototype form, it prints a 127 metres a minute, just over two metres a second.

Many in the industry believe that high speed inkjet, both sheetfed and especially webfed, will become a major method of production in the ensuing years, thanks to their digital printing, no makeready or waste, ease of use and speed.

PacPrint’s only major loss has been that of Heidelberg, and unlike Ipex which has seen a flurry of withdrawals following Heidelberg’s lead, commitment to the local show, slated for May 21-25, has remained strong.

Among the myriad digital and wide format print solutions offset printers will have something to view, Cyber has confirmed that there will be two Ryobi presses onits stand; a 928 A1 long perfector and an SRA3 five colour model which comes with a new Eco-friendly system.

HP has confirmed it will be showing its digital B2 sheetfed HP Indigo 10000, launched at drupa last year.
