Roland DG is launching the next generation of its popular Pro Series production device, the Soljet Pro 4 XR-640 64” Printer Cutter, with release date slated for the Visual Impact show in two weeks time.
Following on from the Pro III Series production devices, the new 64”Pro 4 XR-640 features two latest generation gold print heads, a new ink re-circulation system, advanced media handling, and leverages the Roland’s best print and cut technology.
At 64 inches wide (1625mm), the SolJet Pro 4 XR-640 combines accelerated print speeds with both seven- and eight-colour configurations, and new Eco-Sol Max2 inkset with nine colours: cyan, magenta, yellow, black (CMYK), plus light cyan (Lc), light magenta (Lm), white (Wh), metallic silver (Mt) and a new light black (Lk).
This the first Roland printer to deliver the Eco-Sol Max2 next generation ink.
John Wall, managing director of Roland DG Australia says, “The nickel free Eco-Sol Max 2 ink enables the XR-640 to deliver brilliant colours, flawless skintones and spectacular special effects.”
According to Wall the XR-640 is a versatile production device ready to deliver a vast range of applications from durable outdoor banners, POP, soft signage, vehicle wraps, labels, decals, or fine art and photographic reproductions.
Wall says, “Bundled with the VersaWorks Server Edition rip software, and backed with a comprehensive five year extended warranty, the Soljet Pro 4 XR-640 is a complete solution for sign, screen or commercial print business.”
The XR-640 is purpose built for production printing with a dual inline print head configuration that yields image quality at speeds up to 49.1sqm per hour. The XR-640 fires droplets of seven different sizes for smooth gradations and what Roland describes as ‘flawless’ solid colours. The integrated contour cutting produces graphics of any shape in one seamless workflow and also offers perforations or creasing.
As an extras incentive to would be purchasers Roland DG is running a competition to win a Ford XR-6 sedan or ute, anyone who purchases an XR-640 between Visual Impact and PacPrint next year will go into a draw.
