Epson printing & scanning technology wins TIPA Awards
Epson has been presented with three of the most prestigious TIPA Awards 2006 for its digital imaging technology.
The TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) was founded in 1991 as an independent, non-profit association of European photo and imaging magazines, and runs the annual awards programme for the “Best Photo and Imaging Products in Europe.” The awards ceremony was held this year in Geneva, Switzerland.
The awards are chosen by the editors and/or technical editors of its 31 member magazines from twelve countries.
Epson won awards for the Epson Perfection V750 Pro scanner, voted the “Best Flatbed Photo Scanner in Europe 2006”, the Epson Stylus Photo RX640 as the “Best A4 Multifunction Photo Printer in Europe 2006” and Epson UltraChrome K3 ink as the “Best Printing Technology in Europe 2006.”
The new Epson Perfection V750 Pro is a flatbed scanner for professional photographers and photo enthusiasts. It features a Dual Lens System for film scanning at a high resolution of 6400dpi and also allows reflective scanning at 4800dpi.
The Epson Stylus Photo RX640 is a combination of photo quality printer and a 3200dpi scanner with built-in transparency unit. Scanning is enhanced with Epson’s Easy Photo Fix technology, which automatically restores colour to faded photos and film.
The Epson UltraChrome K3 ink is a resin-coated pigment ink that achieves a high level of longevity and durability. The technology incorporates eight new colour pigments improving the quality and durability of both colour and black & white printing. Epson printers using the K3 system can utilise two different black ink modes Photo Black or Matte Black, allowing the usage of a variety of media types from colour proofing stock to fine art textures.
