The world’s largest press manufacturer says that Asian countries continue to invest in Heidelberg technology, as the market for packaging printing grows alongside increased consumer spending.
In Vietnam, packaging printers have invested in the company's Speedmaster CD 102, a press that can handle thick substrates. Viethung Packaging invested in a Speedmaster CD 102 six-colour with coater and extended delivery, which was recently installed in Hung Yen, to go with its Speedmaster XL 105 five-colour, installed in 2009. Viethung primarily prints folding cartons for the electronic industry.
Binh-Tan-based packaging and label printer Khatoco installed a new Speedmaster CD 102-6+L in May and Viettel Printing, which has signed an order for two Speedmaster CD 102-6+L X UV presses, has also ordered a complete post press packaging order comprising Polar systems, two Easy Gluer EG 100 folder gluers and a Variamatrix 105. The company produces boxes for cosmetics, as well as pharmaceutical, industrial, candy and food boxes.
In Thailand, carton manufacturer S. Silpa employs 300 staff producing folding cartons for the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and consumer goods industries. The company has also bought a Speedmaster CX 102 eight-colour with coater and UV along with a Polar 137 XT Autotrim cutting system.
Bangkok-basedPrinting Solution Company, which specialises in printing plastics for premium boxes for the cosmetic, perfume and healthcare industry has installed a Speedmaster XL 75-8+L UV. In Samut Prakan, Samut Prakan L.L.H Printing & Packaging has opted to install its second Speedmaster CD 102-6+L in an elevated version. S. Pack and Print, based in Songkhla, manufactures and sells corrugated and duplex board packaging products and also provides offset printing services in two factories. It has installed a Speedmaster CD 102-4+L. Newcomer Green Life Printing opted for a Speedmaster SM 102 four-colour press.
In India, commercial and packaging printers have installed Speedmaster SM 74 presses. Commercial and packaging printer Ratna Offsets installed a new Speedmaster SM 74 four-colour plus a Polar cutter 115 XC Plus. New-Delhi-based Maatti Design. a commercial and packaging printer, recently installed a Speedmaster SM 74 five-colour standard pile machine and a new Polar cutter. Delhi’s Modest Graphics installed a new Speedmaster SM 74-4-H to start its export business.
Agarwal Print Media, a commercial and packaging printer located in the small district Meerut at Uttar Pradesh, has installed a new Speedmaster SM 74 four-colour, a Suprasetter A 105 and a Polar 115 XC Plus cutting machine. New Delhi-based commercial printer India Offset recently installed a new Speedmaster CD 102 four-colour press, claiming a four-fold increase in productivity. India Offset supplies the government, corporations, and organisations all over India with magazines, annual reports, books, labels, calendars, and folders. Kamala Printing Press, a commercial printer with a workforce of around 30, based in Varanasi, a district of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, has invested in a Speedmaster SM 74-4, the first brand new press in this area and will replace a second hand competition machine.
Malaysia’s first Speedmaster SX 102 eight-color perfecting press goes to Percetakan Nasional Malaysia. The wholly owned unit of the Ministry of Finance opted for the Heidelberg press at drupa 2012. The company’s services include general printing, variable data printing, security printing as well as document and imaging management solutions.
Singapore commercial printer Asiawide Print Holdings installed a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 in late January 2012 and has ordered the latest Prinect Pressroom Manager and the Prinect mobile solutions.
