European manufacturer Colep and Asian manufacturer and packaging developer One Asia Network are collaborating on a global supply network across Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, India, Poland, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Brazil, and are pledging to share information.
The parties have signed a manufacturing and technology agreement that will see the organisations work together on innovation, research and development, quality, operations and safety. Technology exchanges will include formulation and packaging developments, aerosol science and technology and dispensing solutions.
The companies say the alliance responds to a need to drive global innovation, and will not involve any cross shareholding participation.
One Asia Network, an association involving the Daizo Corporation of Japan (with operations in Japan, Thailand and China), Pax Australia and Asian Aerosols of India, collectively employs 2,800 staff in Australia, Japan, China, Thailand and India to manufacture aerosols and liquids and develop formulation and packaging solutions. It claims an annual turnover of $450m.
Nobuyuki Minami, president of the Daizo Corporation of Japan, says, “Through this alliance we are now ready to support our customers on a global basis. This is a major step forward in supporting our customers in the implementation of their projects, bringing innovation to the world.”
