Sydney conference to explore plastics, waste and recycling

The annual Australian SPE Plastics and Waste Conference on local and overseas strategy, policy and technology developments in the industry will be held in November and include a visit to the Visy Plastics Plant in Sydney.

Waste Less, Recycle More is the title of this year’s programme, which also features keynote presentations from Steve Beaman, director of the waste and resource recovery branch at the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), Ed Kosior, managing director of Nextek, and Jan-Erik Johansson, program director for resource efficiency with Plastics Europe.

Jessica Sheehan from the Australian National Packaging Covenant Industry Association will also deliver a presentation on the industry’s proposed solution for the Packaging Environmental Regulation.

The conference will kick off with the Visy plant tour on November 14 from 8.15am onwards at Smithfield, followed by speaker sessions from 11.15am at the Rydges Bankstown Hotel in Bass Hill.
