Commercial offset printers looking for new revenue streams were among the visitors at Visual Impact, with plenty on display to give them food for thought.
A new location didn’t deter printers from wide format show Visual Impact, held this year at Sydney’s Olympic site as the traditional Darling Harbour venue is currently being redeveloped.
Visitors to the show saw a dozen major exhibitors, with the focus on UV printing, and nearly 30 more smaller exhibitors showing everything from plaque engraving to T-shirt printing.
Applications were as much the focus as hardware, with the major vendors stressing the need for wide format printers to look to niche markets for the best returns.
Major vendors at the show included Canon, Roland DG, HP, Epson, Positive Camtec, Mimaki, Mutoh, DGS and AVS, and there were new entrants including Absolute UV with a Chinese-built UV hybrid printer using Epson printheads.
